This exhibition comprised 35 artworks and presented a poetic and conceptual homage to Ishtar, the ancient Mesopotamian goddess of love, fertility, and war.
The works explored the symbolic and emotional dimensions of love, devotion, and feminine power, drawing from historical mythology while engaging with a contemporary artistic language.

Through experimental visual approaches, the exhibition reinterpreted inherited cultural narratives, merging calligraphy, visual art, and symbolism to create a dialogue between the ancient and the modern.
The focus remained on conceptual depth and expressive meaning, rather than on traditional form alone.

“Bitakat Hobb Ila Ashtar” stood as an artistic tribute that transformed myth into a living visual experience, affirming the continuity of cultural memory and its relevance within contemporary art practice.
The exhibition opened with songs by the late Iraqi artist and dear friend Sahar Taha, followed by musical performances and a live music presentation by Ziad Sahhab with his band.

بطاقات حب إلى عشتار – مسرح المدينة 2003 

ضمّ هذا المعرض 35 عملاً فنياً، وقدّم تحيّة شعرية ومفهومية إلى عشتار، إلهة الحب والخصب والحرب في حضارات بلاد الرافدين. تناولت الأعمال الأبعاد الرمزية والوجدانية للحب، والأنوثة، والقوة، مستلهمةً الأسطورة القديمة ضمن خطاب بصري معاصر.

جاء المعرض تحية لبغداد قبل احتلالها و تحية للمرأة العراقية و العربية 

شكّل معرض «بطاقات حب إلى عشتار» تجربة فنية حوّلت الأسطورة إلى حضور بصري حيّ، مؤكداً على استمرارية الذاكرة الحضارية وقدرتها على التفاعل مع الفن المعاصر.

إفتُتِحَ المعرض بأغانِ للفنانة العراقية الراحلة الصديقة ســَــحــَـر طــَــهَ و أغنيات  و عرض موسيقي للفنان زياد سحّاب مع الفرقة  ...

This second calligraphic exhibition presented more than 30 experimental artworks, offering a distinctive approach to the inherited calligraphic subject through a contemporary and innovative perspective.
The works departed from traditional treatments, proposing new ways of engaging with form, meaning, and visual language.

The exhibition emphasized the primacy of the creative concept over the medium, asserting that the value of the artwork lies in the strength of the idea rather than in the tool or method of presentation.
Through experimentation and reinterpretation, the pieces redefined the calligraphic letter as a living, expressive element rather than a purely decorative form.

“SAHIL / Voice of Horse” functioned as a platform for research and artistic exploration, where identity, rhythm, and movement converged, affirming the evolution of contemporary calligraphic art and its capacity to engage with modern artistic discourse.
The exhibition opened with flute de pan music performed by Maggie Abi Lamaa, accompanied by visual effects.

SAHIL  |    Voice of Horse - صـَـــهــيل   |  قصر الأونيسكو - بيروت - لبنان  |  2004 

يتناول هذا المعرض الحروفي الثاني تجربة فنية ضمّت أكثر من ثلاثين عملاً فنياً تجريبياً، قدّمت رؤية مختلفة في مقاربة الموضوع الحروفي المتوارث، من خلال تعاطٍ معاصر ومُستحدث يخرج عن الأطر التقليدية.
ارتكزت الأعمال على إعادة تفكيك الحرف وإعادة بنائه بصرياً ودلالياً، مع التأكيد الواضح على أن الفكرة الإبداعية تتقدّم على الوسيط، وأن جوهر العمل الفني لا تحدده الأداة ولا طريقة العرض بقدر ما تحدده الرؤية والمفهوم.

جاء المعرض كمساحة بحث وتجريب، حيث تلاقت الهوية، الصوت، والحركة في لغة بصرية جديدة، عبّرت عن الحرف بوصفه كائناً حيّاً نابضاً، لا مجرد عنصر شكلي، مؤكداً على تطوّر الخطاب الحروفي وقدرته على مواكبة التحوّلات الفنية المعاصرة.

The exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister of Culture, Ghassan Salameh.
It featured more than 45 calligraphic artworks and served as a first-time experimental showcase.
The opening began with a two-minute musical piece by artist Ahmad Kaabour, followed by an audio-visual composition by artist Jamal Abu Hassan.
